My little one likes raisins, peanuts, almonds (in the shell, he likes to take the nuts out of the shell), pumpkin seeds, ummm gee what else, carrots, and dried apples. That's just the stuff that I know about. Never fear though, he rarely gets any of this, just on special occasions.

Oh of course, that's why they enjoy them so much though! I really need to get my hands on some more pumpkin seeds, my gerbils LOVE them too!

I know it, I have to get more seeds for mine too. He hasn't had any since about the first month of November. I carved a pumpkin for Halloween and dried some of the seeds for him, but then they became a little nasty and didn't want to feed them to him because of obvious reasons.

Mine love peanuts. I am getting them trained to come out into my hand by giving them one. Some times I will also give them some corn flakes.

I haven't tried cornflakes yet - though when I've already given my degus treats I use monkey nut shells to keep them occupied. They get a bit confused though because they expect to find a nut and don't! But yeah, peanuts are definitely great training treats! |
